“Dogwood Clouds,” Ft White 2012

My grandfather’s widow maintains that dogwoods are beautiful year round. According to her, they bloom in the spring, they are the greenest tree during the summer, they turn brilliant red and yellow in the fall, and their wistful stark branches somehow give you hope and peace in the winter. Yep. Miss Barbara is exactly correct. And besides that, during the spring of 2012 the dogwoods in her old yard sustained me through Easter and gently reminded me about celebrating the art of forgiveness.
