I don’t know if it’s fortunate or unfortunate that I always seem to visit The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens in Jacksonville when someone I love is a patient at the Mayo Clinic. I hate having to be at the Mayo Clinic, but I am profoundly grateful for the care they give their patients—and how great they are to you while you and your loved ones are scared to death. Knock wood, all my trips there have all been productive. So I guess it is fortunate for me that we always visit the Cummer Gardens on the St. Johns River. The idyllic and quaint riverbank gardens are comforting, and their bright flowers among the majestic old live oak trees are reassuring.
