“Hall and Oak,” Tallahassee, 2011

On the edge of Lake Hall is one hell of a Live Oak tree. Free to branch out however it wanted, this is how Mother Nature wanted Live Oaks to look! It makes you hate all those city municipalities requiring uniformed tree trimming practices that create homogenous landscapes. I’ve started calling it “Hall and Oak,” and because of that, I can’t help but hum the old Hall & Oats’ song “Just take a look at your life line, You’ve got a lot to shine, Let’s say baby, I wanna know you for a long, long time, Ooh baby, I wanna know you for a long, long time.”
